A Warm Start to the Winter
12/15/2016

Both Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin have been known to sing, “Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow,” and I’m sure a few reading this will be saying the same thing next week, but I’ve found a simple remedy - make sure you’re in Cancun on the first day of winter!  I’ll be performing Sinatra Forever in a private event at the famous Moon Palace Resort in The Glistening City on December 20th and 21st.

When development began in the area in 1970, there were only three inhabitants, but now this important tourist destination has a population of nearly three-quarters of a million people.  With its emerald waters, soft sand, and wispy blue sky, it’s no wonder the world flocks there when their temperatures dip and they want to trade the snow for white sand - Christmas there would certainly give a whole new meaning to the song, White Christmas.

Moon Palace Resorts have been around for more than 30 years and, most exciting for me, takes pride in offering first-class entertainment acts for their clients to complement their first-class facilities.

Despite making his home in Palm Springs, Sinatra seemed a little acquainted with winter, recording Winter Wonderland for the album, Christmas Songs by Sinatra.  I also found a recording from 1979 with Ol’ Blue Eyes singing a beautiful number called, “Summer Me, Winter Me” and was entranced by his vocals.

While you’re shoveling snow, or trying to get warm by the fire (that sounds rather romantic and could be the perfect time to put on The Voice), I’ll be looking over the pristine beaches of Cancun, dotted with vacationers who’ve escaped the ice and slush, and readying myself to usher in winter with my tribute to the greatest singer of all time.  Feel free to turn up the heat, sooth yourself with a glass of Jack Daniels, and listen to a Sinatra album or two.
